What was needed
- As sponsors of the Nationwide Mercury Music Prize and the Home Nations football teams, Nationwide needed an online community that could accommodate both football and music fans

What we did
- We developed a dedicated website, nationwidefootball.co.uk
- We pushed the Nationwide message through football social media sites such as blogs and fan sites
- Unique and exclusive content was provided to drive maximum interest in the site. This included:

- Podcasts
- Daily News
- Exclusive competitions, such as the opportunity to meet players and the chance to take a penalty at Wembley or play at the Millennium Stadium, were run
- To emphasise the community aspect, we provided a forum for competition winners to share their experiences through videos and photos

- Nationwidefootball.co.uk's consistently high level of traffic has surpassed all expectations
- The site appears above thefa.com in search engines for certain keyphrases
- The feedback from customers and fans has been excellent and has helped them strengthen their connections to their team and Nationwide strengthen its strong association with football
