The Guardian are also doing an advent calendar, but with films. Each day a critic selects an alternative Christmas classic and gives a few reasons why they’ve chosen it. So far they’ve had Bergman’s ‘Fanny and Alexander’ and ‘Gone With The Wind’. My choice? Billy Wilder’s The Apartment. Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine and the greatest final scene in cinema history.
